Quiero agradecerles a todos vosotros los feligreses de esta parroquia por el amor, la paciencia, la comprensión, la solidaridad he recibido en este tiempo de estar con vosotros.

After journeying with you for almost a year and because the Holy Mother Church has called me for another assignment through a new appointment by the Bishop of Jaén, I want to take sometime to say thank you to all of you the parishioners of this parish for the love, the patience, the understanding, the solidarity and the mutuality.

I express my sincere thanks to the parish priest, Fr. Francisco Rosales for the warm reception when I came in last year October, for the guidance, the fraternity, the confidence, and the understanding.

I thank the pastoral council made up of the heads of the various parish groups for always collaborating and assisting the priests to effectively carry on their pastoral ministry.

I thank the catechists, although we had little or no formal meeting for their untiring evangelizing task and preparing the kids for the sacraments of Christian initiation.

I thank the extraordinary ministers of communion whom I have shared this altar with for the last one year and for all their sacrifices especially to come for the 9.00PM masses that was my lot even when it was most inconvenient.

I thank the various lectors who have always enlivened the liturgy with their availability to proclaim the word of God to the worshipping assembly even at the daily masses. Thank you also Nuestra Hermana Teresa the coordinator of the Parish bulletin for always making it ready on time.

I thank all the members and collaborators of the various parish groups. Without such collaboration and sacrifices we cannot be truly called a parish community.

I thank the leadership (Hermano Mayor and his council) and members of the only Confraternity in our parish, The Amargura for always animating worship, prayers, and spiritual upliftment through their various activities. Unfortunately, the pandemic has made it impossible to witness your Holy Monday procession. I will be present with you spiritually whenever the procession comes alive again. Let me thank the youth group of this confraternity for whom I have had the opportunity to share some beautiful moments and experiences. May God bless all the youths of the confraternity and the parish.

Let me also thank especially the group of devoted persons who do not miss the 9.00AM daily masses. Their devotion, consistency and punctuality deepen my own faith experience. 

Last but not the least let me thank the parish sacristan Nuestro Hermano David for whom I spent the most of my time in the sacristy with this one year. For his devotion, humility, docility, availability, and assistance. With him, Nuestra Hermana Pillar who was always there to help as the need arise. I also thank all those who assisted in the sacristy in one way or the other.

The truth is that when I begin mentioning names I will fall into the danger of missing some names, but I must confess that I really had a good time with each and every member of this community both those I have had some personal encounter and those afar.

I thank all of you who have come out for this evening Mass simply to bid me farewell. I thank all of you who have been praying for me and keep praying for me. I thank all of you who would have loved to accompany me to my new place of assignment on the 22^nd of September, but circumstances would not permit them. I thank all of you men and women of good will. May God bless and keep you all.

Together we journey to the Heaven – the Father´s House. Always pray for me as I also pray for you. Thank you very much!!!

Después de caminar con vosotros durante casi un año y porque la Santa Madre Iglesia me ha llamado para otro encargo a través de un nuevo nombramiento del Obispo de Jaén, quiero tomarme un momento para agradecerles a todos vosotros los feligreses de esta parroquia por el amor, la paciencia, la comprensión, la solidaridad recibido en este tiempo de estar con vosotros.

Primero mi más sincero agradecimiento al párroco, D. Francisco Rosales por la calurosa acogida cuando llegué el año pasado octubre, por la guía, la fraternidad, la confianza y la comprensión.

Agradezco al consejo pastoral formado por los responsables de los distintos grupos parroquiales por siempre colaborar y ayudar a los sacerdotes a llevar a cabo con eficacia su ministerio pastoral.

Agradezco a los catequistas, aunque tuvimos poca o ninguna reunión formal para su incansable tarea evangelizadora y preparando a los niños para los sacramentos de la iniciación cristiana.

Agradezco a los ministros extraordinarios de comunión con los que he compartido este altar durante el último año y por todos sus sacrificios, especialmente por venir por las misas dominicales de las 21:00 (20.00) horas que me toca a mí, incluso cuando fue más inconveniente.

Agradezco a los diversos lectores que siempre han animado la liturgia con su disponibilidad para proclamar la palabra de Dios a la asamblea de culto, incluso en las misas diarias. Gracias también Nuestra Hermana Teresa la coordinadora del boletín parroquial por estar siempre listo a tiempo.

Agradezco a todos los miembros y colaboradores de los distintos grupos parroquiales. Sin tal colaboración y sacrificios, no podemos ser verdaderamente llamados una comunidad parroquial.

Agradezco al liderazgo (Hermano Mayor y su consejo) y a los miembros de la única cofradía en nuestra parroquia, La Amargura, por siempre animar la adoración, las oraciones y la elevación espiritual a través de sus diversas actividades. Desafortunadamente, la pandemia ha hecho imposible de disfrutar su procesión del Lunes Santo. Estaré presente con vosotros espiritualmente cada vez que la procesión cobre vida nuevamente. Permítanme agradecer al grupo de jóvenes de esta cofradía por quienes he tenido la oportunidad de compartir algunos momentos y experiencias hermosos. Que Dios bendiga a todos los jóvenes de la cofradía y de la parroquia.

Permítanme también agradecer especialmente al grupo de personas devotas que no se pierden las misas diarias de las 9:00 de la mañana. Su devoción, consistencia y puntualidad profundizan mi propia experiencia de fe.

Por último, pero no menos importante, permítanme agradecer al sacristán de la parroquia Nuestro Hermano David con quien pasé la mayor parte de mi tiempo en la sacristía este año. Por su devoción, humildad, docilidad, amabilidad, disponibilidad y asistencia. Con él, Nuestra Hermana Pilar quien siempre estuvo ahí para ayudar cuando viene la necesidad. También agradezco a todos los que asistieron en la sacristía de una forma u otra.

La verdad es que cuando empiece a mencionar nombres caeré en el peligro de perderme algunos, pero debo confesar que realmente me pasé muy bien con todos y cada uno de los miembros de esta comunidad tanto con los que he tenido algún encuentro personal como con los que están lejos.

Les agradezco a todos los que han venido a esta Misa simplemente para despedirme. Les agradezco a todos vosotros que han estado orando por mí y siguen orando por mí. Les agradezco a todos los que hubieran querido acompañarme a mi toma de posesión el 22 de septiembre, pero las circunstancias actuales no lo permitieron. Les agradezco a todos vosotros, hombres y mujeres de buena voluntad. Que Dios los bendiga y los guarde a todos.

Juntos caminamos al Cielo, nuestra patria celestial, la Casa del Padre. Rezad siempre por mí como yo también rezo por vosotros.
