
Fr. Valentine Umoh is a Catholic priest, biblical scholar, author, and speaker devoted to the study and proclamation of the Word of God. His academic and pastoral work focuses on biblical studies, evangelisation, theology, and faith formation.
Ordained a priest for Ikot Ekpene Diocese, Nigeria in 2014. He graduated from the Seat of Wisdom Seminary Owerri bagging Summa cum laude from Pontifical Urban University, Rome and First-Class honours from Imo State University, Owerri in both Philosophy (B. Phil., B.A, 2009) and Theology (B. Th., B.A, 2014). He holds a Licentiate Degree in Sacred Theology (Biblical Theology) with a Distinction from the University of Navarra, Spain (STL, 2019). He also holds a Doctorate Degree in Theology (Biblical Studies) with Distinction (Sobresaliente) from the Universidad de Navarra (2023), with the Thesis “The Gift of Διδασκαλια in Pauline Writings” directed by Prof Dr. D. Juan Luis Caballero, an erudite Professor of New Testament and Pauline Studies in the same university.

He has worked in various schools and parishes in Nigeria, Spain, and the United States. By work and pastoral experiences, he is driven by a passion for teaching, youth formation, motivation, and empowerment through an authentic formation of the mind. This makes him to firmly believe that education in all its ramifications ought to be in the service of the Truth. Hence, his motto: in servire veritatis semper “…always in the service of Truth.”
Current Work:
Through preaching, teaching, writing, and ministry, Fr. Valentine Umoh seeks to inspire faith, hope, love, and peace while fostering deeper understanding of Scripture and Christian life. He continues to engage in theological reflection, academic research, pastoral ministry, and writing projects that contribute to biblical scholarship and Christian formation. He is fluent in Annang, English, Spanish, and with a reading knowledge of Italian. He loves singing, enjoys music, plays soccer and is always happy.
